Preview: Arsenal v Everton

We’re back in Premier League action on Saturday (3pm) as Everton head to Emirates Stadium, where we’ll look to claim a seventh straight win on our own patch.

After our midweek draw against Bayern Munich, we can turn our attention back to the league, as Mikel Arteta welcomes his former Toffees manager, David Moyes, to north London hoping to end the day closer to league leaders Manchester City than we started.

Both teams enter this game having been beaten just once this term, while the Toffees haven’t lost on the road. They would be delighted to leave N5 with that record intact, having emerged victorious in just one of their last 30 away Premier League matches against us.

HARD TO BEAT

After a second consecutive 13th-place finish last term, Everton remained thrifty in the summer, spending less on new players than they did in recuperating £65m from the sale of winger Iliman Ndiaye to Manchester City. New additions include Hayden Hackney from Middlesbrough and former Gunners Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Christian Norgaard, while Jack Grealish returned for a second loan spell.

The prospects for an improved campaign are encouraging, despite their unbeaten start ending with a 2-0 home defeat to Chelsea last weekend. They enter this round of games in eighth position with 10 points, including Merseyside wins over Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town, plus a late 2-2 draw against Manchester United.

However the Toffees are winless in their last eight league away games, with all three this season ending level – 1-1 at Bournemouth, 0-0 at Tottenham and 2-2 at Hull City. They have also progressed to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup after knocking out Wolves and Preston North End.
