In the wake of Jimmy Buffett's passing, fans are finding solace in the legacy he leaves behind. The iconic "Margaritaville" singer's final gift to his admirers is a new album titled "Equal Strain on All Parts," released on November 3. Recorded earlier this year, the album was co-produced by Coral Reefers, Michael Utley, and Mac McAnally and comprises 14 tracks featuring collaborations with notable artists like Emmylou Harris, Lennie Gallant, Angelique Kidjo, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and Paul McCartney.
McCartney, who contributed to the tracks "Bubbles Up" and "My Gummie Just Kicked In" (both released on, September 8) expressed his admiration for Buffett's work. He praised the singer's exceptional vocals in the song "Bubbles Up," appreciating its metaphorical message about finding clarity amidst confusion. Additionally, a third single from the album, "Like My Dog," was also released on the same day.
The announcement of the album followed a heartfelt tribute from Buffett's daughter, Sarah "Delaney" Buffett, who shared her eternal love for her father on Instagram. Buffett's passing, attributed to skin cancer, was confirmed on his official website and social media platforms. The statement revealed that he spent his final moments surrounded by family, friends, music, and his beloved dogs, embodying the spirit of his songs until his last breath. His profound impact on the music world will be cherished by countless fans.
